Read the recommended Bible passages and the thought-provoking blurb below. Send your partner a letter or notecard answering the questions at the end of this post. Don't forget to pray and invite the Lord into your study time. Bible passages to read and reflect on this week: The book of Jude (The Key Passage is Jude verse 4) Romans 6:18 The author of Jude urgently warns about ungodly people who have "wormed their way" into churches. He does not want anyone to be led astray by them. The people said that due to God's grace, it was fine to go on sinning. Sin was covered by the grace of God anyway. What a dangerous way to live! And what backward thinking! The apostle Paul taught in the book of Romans that our sinful lives were crucified with Christ and we are set free. Romans 6:18 states, "Now you are set free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living." Are there people in your life who claim to be Christians and yet live a sinful lifestyle? Just as the author of Jude warns the people of his day, be warned. It is often easy to be led astray by such people. You want to surround yourself with friends who point you toward godly living. Have you ever heard something that you instantly knew did not align with God's word? What would you say to someone who said that because of God's grace we can live however we desire? Did you have any other thoughts or questions from your study this week? Share your thoughts! |
