Squished Penny Swap -- USA and Canada

A quick and easy swap -- just send one squished penny to your each of your two swap partners.

This is sender's choice so you can go get a penny from a location near you before you are assigned swap partners.

The best pennies to use for squishing are pre-1981 copper pennies (1982 and later are made with a zinc core). You can find them in your pocket change. If you want to clean your pennies before squishing you can use many methods -- the easiest being a pencil eraser or ketchup (you can find other cleaning info under tips on pennycollector).

One penny can be mailed easily in a greeting card or note card with one stamp most of the time. Just wrap some paper around it and tape it to the center of the card. I've never lost a penny in the mail using this method. Tape placed directly on pennies can sometimes cause discoloration.
